The Commission is excited to share the action steps created by the attendees at our Huddle on February 14! We talked about how to make UMD a better place for those who identify as women on our campus, and we came into community to support and encourage each other.
Please share this document at will, and if you have other suggestions for action, let us know!
Gender Equity Advocacy Events – February 2017
The Commission for Women is excited to announce our newest initiative to build community on campus!
The Coffee Connection program pairs non-gender binary and those who identify as women with others on campus to facilitate personal and professional growth.
Participants will be matched with four individuals with whom to connect over the course of Spring semester. Create new relationships, deepen existing ones, and foster community; enjoy each other’s company while enjoying a coffee, a meal, or just a few minutes away from your work.
To participate, fill out the quick and easy form at z.umn.edu/coffeeconnection. Pairs will be announced in late January.
This program is open only to individuals who work on the UMD campus.
Thank you again to everyone who attended our luncheon on November 18th. We hope you had a great time. We uploaded photos from the luncheon on Facebook. You can see them all here. Below is one of our favorites. The officers (Ellen, Kendra, & Jessi) were all super excited that Emily Larson (the lunch’s featured speaker) is going to Duluth’s FIRST female mayor. We can’t wait to see what she does once she’s in-office in January.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for yesterday’s luncheon! We’ll soon be sharing photos and media clips from the event.
